Call for Proposals to Host
IEEE Advanced Networking and Telecommunication Systems (ANTS) 2012 Conference

Dear Prospective Conference Organizer,

IEEE ANTS Steering Board is soliciting proposals from organizations/institutions interested in hosting the 6th annual Conference on Advanced Networking and Telecommunication Systems (ANTS) in the year 2012.

ANTS is a premier IEEE conference that is held every year in India inviting papers/posters, events such as tutorials, panels and keynote speakers from all over the world. Our preference of candidate hosting organizations would be universities, research institutions/laboratories, companies located in India to host ANTS 2012 in India.

ANTS conference is a valuable opportunity for colleagues to share current research and practical results, challenges and issues. The conference is also a vibrant event at which colleagues have an opportunity to network and socialize.  It provides an opportunity for the host institution to organize a major annual conference that attracts scholars, researchers and industry experts from networking and telecommunication community and also reflects the identity and expertise of the host university. You will have the opportunity to create your own Organizing Committee, conference format and other take care of all the other details. We generally seek hosting cities that are reasonably accessible by international visitors, and provide a range of lodging, dining, entertainment and cultural attractions within reasonable proximity of the venue.

ANTS Steering Board plans on reviewing all submitted proposals and award the hosting opportunity to host ANTS 2012. We will keep in touch with you after receiving your proposal and you may be invited to give a brief presentation on your proposal to ANTS committee at the 2011 conference in Bangalore, India during 18-21, December 2011.

Template for interested organizations to propose for hosting of ANTS 2012

Although a detailed proposal is not necessary now, here is a template for interested organizations to complete and send with information to show their intention and interest to host ANTS 2012. An initial proposal shall include the following information. Please fill the template below and send it to sudhir.dixit@hp.com for review.

(1) Host institution
Briefly describe the host organization and its association with the field of networking and telecommunication research. Justify your application for organizing ANTS 2012 explaining why your organization will be the best choice for hosting ANTS 2012.

(2) Organizing committee
Briefly describe who makes up your organizing group, who the proposed General chair and other Chairs for the conference would be, and their connections to Networking and Telecom research and previous association with ANTS conference if any.

(3) Conference Theme
The conference should appeal to the range of scholars, researchers and industry in the field of telecommunication. So what is your proposal for the theme of ANTS 2012.. Briefly describe if the proposed theme is relevant to current day’s research and Industry and how/why would it attract attendees.

(4) Venue and Dates
Briefly describe what makes your city and venue particularly attractive to the Networking and Telecommunication Research community. Provide information about the venue, including recent conferences held there, available infrastructural facilities and accessibility.
ANTS is normally held in month of December, so we need an indication of the planned dates. If you would like to suggest different time frame, please justify your reasons. It is helpful if we are able to avoid conflicts with other major conferences of interest to attendees.

(5) Financial support
Please keep in mind costs when selecting keynote and plenary speakers.  If you are planning international speakers, please bear in mind applying for external research funding and sponsorships and plan this into your schedule, Events usually generate modest income from sponsors and registrations.

(6) Any other points you wish to bring to the attention of the selection committee
