Dr. Deepak Kataria
Director, IPJunction, Inc.

Deepak Kataria has over 20 years’ experience in telecom and networking industry having worked in varied roles in the entire ecosystem comprising of service provider, system OEM, silicon vendor and system integrator. Currently he serves as a Director at IP Junction Inc., consulting clients on new solution opportunities, target markets, key differentiators, product management consulting and creating ecosystem partnerships for the successful execution of identified opportunities.

Prior to starting his consulting career, he spent 8 years working for Agere Systems and LSI (silicon vendor) on ATLANTA ATM port controller, ATM switch fabric, IP-based Network Processor, PI-Fabric, DPI engine, DSP, Link Layer Processor, Ethernet over SONET products in a varied roles such as Systems Architect, Applications Manager, Systems Integration Manager, and Advanced System Prototyping Manager. He spearheaded efforts to build competitive value propositions by acquiring and developing hardware, software, and development tools necessary to integrate Agere Systems & LSI’s products into both existing and emerging application platforms.
 
Prior to Agere Systems and LSI, he spent 7 years working for Lucent Technologies and Fujitsu (system OEMs) on MX1000 ATM Switch, Fetex-150, AC120/60, and Packet Star Router in varied roles such as Systems Engineer, Network Consultant and Systems Architect.  His work included system engineering requirements and system architectures for the Lucent’s product portfolio to deliver on the value proposition of best in class voice/data integration via QoS, routing services and traffic management. He led traffic management and performance testing standards work for Lucent Technologies and Fujitsu in the ATM Forum.

Prior to Lucent Technologies and Fujitsu, he spent 3 years at AT&T Bell Labs (service provider) where he worked on tele-traffic engineering issues and supported the development the first prototype build of ATM terminal adaptor (code named MINT) for voice, video and data over ATM at 155 Mb/s.

Before starting his consulting career with IP Junction Inc., he consulted HCL America (system integrator) for 2 years on the development of forward-looking solution prototypes such as cloud-oriented video-centric enterprise and network architectures (caching, analytics, and managed content delivery), enterprise mobility solutions, SMB gateway leveraging cloud services and policy-based networking.

He holds 10 US patents and has several others in pending status and has published extensively in industry and IEEE publications. He served as Guest Editor for IEEE Communication Magazine Special Issue on Femto Cells (Sept. 2009 & Jan. 2010) and currently serves as the Industry Co-Chair for IEEE Advanced Networks and Telecommunication Systems Conference (IEEE ANTS 2011). He holds a B.S. in Electronics and Communications Engineering, and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Rutgers University, NJ. He recently completed Harvard’s Emerging Leader’s professional program on virtual leadership covering strategy, customer focus, corporate governance, and innovation.

Mr. Balaji TS
Tech Mahindra
Balaji TS is a BE (Electronics & Communications) graduate from Madras University, focused on communications technology with an experience of over 21 years. He currently works as part of the CTO Office team in Tech Mahindra and looks after Technology Initiatives. Earlier, as part of the Centre of Excellence for NGN Solutions & Services he headed initiatives around IMS, SDP, IPTV, Cloud Computing etc. He has also been involved in evolving consultancy frameworks for the solutions around the technologies listed above.

In the past, he has been responsible for traffic modelling, equipment dimensioning, performance management & first-line maintenance of a GSM Operator; roles performed over 4.5 years included Interconnect Management, Roaming, Regulatory Approvals and network based prepaid solutions.

Prior to working with the GSM operator, he was also involved in production engineering & customisation of telephone exchange software for new feature requirements for one of licencees of C-DOT technology where he worked for around 5.5 years.
 

Mr. Devaraj. M. Srinivasan
Wipro Technologies
Devaraj Srinivasan (Dev) is the General Manager & Head of R&D Engineering Practice in Global Media & Telecom business unit at Wipro.  Wipro’s Telecom Engineering business unit is a team of 8000+ people providing R&D Engineering to Telecom Equipment Vendor, Service Provider and Media customers.

Dev has been working in IT & Telecom Industry for more than 22 years and joined Wipro in 1991. Dev has performed various technology and business roles in Wipro Telecom Engineering group and has worked with leading telecom equipment vendors across the world.

Dev is currently heading the R&D Engineering Service Unit which focuses on “Telecom Engineering as a Center of Excellence”. He and his team of consultants provide Telecom Consulting, build solutions and participate in various technology forums in Wireless & Wireline domain.

His areas of interest are broadband wireless technologies, Service Management and Wireless backhaul solutions.  He has been speaker at various Industry forums like LTE Americas 2009, TTCN-3 User Conference, Embed Asia 2009, and IEEE-ANTS 2009 (Advanced Networks and Telecommunication Systems).

Dev has a Bachelors degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering from Bharathiar University, Coimbatore and Advanced Diploma in Management from Indira Gandhi National University.
 

Mr. Nitin P. Pai
Tata Elxsi 
Nitin Pai is the Vice President of Marketing at Tata Elxsi.

Over his tenure of more than fourteen years at Tata Elxsi, Nitin has held a wide range of leadership positions across Embedded Product Design, Industrial Design and Systems Integration businesses.

He joined Tata Elxsi in 1996 as Product Manager for Design and Visualization Solutions in the Systems Integration division. In 1999, he initiated Tata Elxsi’s service offerings for Industrial design and was responsible for growing it into India’s leading industrial design and product design services provider.  Nitin moved to head the marketing function in 2005, and presently also oversees the media relations function for the company.

Nitin has over eighteen years of industry experience in R&D, operations and marketing for design services addressing the automotive, consumer electronics and telecom industries.

He holds a B.E (Honors) degree in mechanical engineering from BITS, Pilani and a degree in Executive General Management from IIM, Bangalore..
 

Mr. Raghuveen B K
Infosys

Raghuveer B K is the Head of Communication Products Group at Infosys, in addition to heading other responsibilities which include heading Technology Office in Infosys Product R&D unit. Key focus areas of Raghuveer are Telecom, Internet technologies and Open Source.  Infosys is a leading provider of consulting, software and technology services to global customers with over 6Billion USD in revenues. Raghuveer B K has been heading various groups in the Product R&D space since joining Infosys in 1992. His current focus is creation of products and solutions in Broadband, Video Infrastructure and cloud platforms.  As member of Infosys Technology council, Raghuveer also contributes to the technology direction of Infosys.

The communication products group at Infosys is focused on creating indigenous products designed, developed and manufactured in India. This group has already created a portfolio of carrier grade networking equipment over the last three years and are currently in advanced stages of trials and deployment. This include access, aggregation and defence portfolio designed for  emerging IP networks and suitable for global deployment. His team have actively participated in global conferences, IETF RFC authorship and research to create products required for the changing networking needs driven by consumer data services. The video infrastructure platform created enables OnDemand video infrastructure for carrier scale deployment which includes complete workflow from content management to consumption.
 

Mr. Sumit Chauhan
Vice President & GM, Embedded & Telecom SBU, Symphony Services

Sumit is a telecom business veteran with close to 15+ years of experience working with service providers, OEMs, ISVs and software service providers to enhance the business across the entire telecom and communications eco-system. In his current position as Vice President & General Manager of Symphony's Embedded and Telecom Software Services Business Unit, Sumit is driving new business acquisitions, executing the global telecom & embedded services strategy and merger & acquisition related initiatives. Embedded & Telecom is a key vertical and amount the fastest growing within Symphony Technology group with is a USD 2.5B fund which is holding Symphony Services.

Before Symphony, Sumit was working with Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN) heading one of the key verticals with in Global Delivery and Business for Consulting and System Integration vertical. In NSN, he was responsible for driving both growth in business and driving the global strategy for delivery and fulfilment working with the entire spectrum of the eco-system servicing the service provider customer base led by NSN. The vertical is close to 4BN in revenues for NSN in the services domain apart from the core products business.

Before NSN, Sumit was working for Aricent heading one of the key verticals from a business point of view in the Wireless, VOIP and Datacom space. He led acquisition and growth of many key accounts at Aricent which led to the growth of USD 65M vertical he was working for.

Sumit comes with a rich background in Telecom and Embedded domain. Sumit has extensive experience working in high growth areas like LTE, WIMAX, 3G and Connected World across geographies and accounts.

Sumit holds a Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communication from JMI, New Delhi, India.
 

Dr. Sanjoy Paul
Accenture

Sanjoy Paul  is a Senior Vice President at Accenture serving as the Country-Director and Head of Accenture Technology Labs India. Prior to joining Accenture, Sanjoy was Associate Vice President and General Manager at Infosys Technologies where he led research and innovation in the field of Communications, Media and Entertainment. Earlier, he was also a Research Professor at Rutgers University, Founder of RelevantAd Technologies, Director of Wireless Networking Research at Bell Labs, Lucent Technologies, and CTOs of two start-up companies based in New York. Sanjoy is known for many inventions, including, iSmart Power Strip, an award-winning innovation in the field of Energy Management; Reliable Multicast Transport Protocol, one of the first reliable transport protocols over IP Multicast; and Smart Content Caching, the key concept behind Lucent Technology’s Internet Content Distribution and Delivery product line.

Sanjoy has over twenty years of technology expertise, specifically in the areas of Mobile Wireless Networking, Wireless Sensor Networks, Energy Management and Sustainability, Future Internet Architecture and Design, Multicasting, Content Distribution, Media Streaming, Intelligent Caching, and Security. He served as an editor of IEEE/ACM Transactions on Networking, Guest Editor of IEEE Network Special Issue on Multicasting, Steering Committee member of IEEE COMSNETS, General Chair of ICDCN 2011, IMSAA 2010 and COMSWARE 2007; Technical Program Chair of COMSWARE 2006, and as a Technical Program Committee Member of several IEEE and ACM International conferences.

Sanjoy has authored two books, the first one on Multicasting (Kluwer, 1996), and the most recent one on Digital Video Distribution (Wiley, 2010), published over 100 papers in International Journals and refereed Conference Proceedings, and authored over 100 US patents (30 granted, 70+ pending). He is the co-recipient of 1997 William R. Bennett award from IEEE Communications Society for the best original paper in IEEE/ACM Transactions on Networking and the co-recipient of Infosys Excellence Award for Innovations and Thought Leadership for the invention of iSmart Power Strip. Sanjoy, with his colleague, also received MIT Technology Reviews’ Grand Challenges for India 2010 award for innovation in Smart Energy.

Sanjoy holds a Bachelor of Technology degree from IIT Kharagpur, an M.S and a Ph.D. degree from the University of Maryland, College Park, and an MBA from the Wharton Business School, University of Pennsylvania. He is a Fellow of IEEE and a Fellow of the IET.
 

Mr. Srinivasa Moorthy
Sanmina-SCI Inc.

Moorthy is passionate Business Leader, Design Engineer and a Teacher with over 25 years of experience in the R&D and Product Design areas. He has developed and managed development of products in Telecom & Networking, Medical Devices and Avionics domains.

 He was responsible for setting up Automotive and Medical development practice in the product engineering space. Primarily responsible for  India’s first ISO 13485 certification for Medical Device development.

He is hands-on and experienced in managing high technology industry operations.

He was responsible for building the Concept to Manufacturing (C2M) service for total product development proposition for India’s leading design service provider.

As a head of Joint Venture between a Design Service provider and a EMS partner he ushered the methodology for outsourcing complete end to end product development with focus on New Product Development process with the focus on knowledge reuse resulting in multiple first pass success of the products.

He has headed both Indian and Multinational R&D teams and built and managed large teams with success.

Firm believer in continuous education had implemented successful Fresh Engineer Training as well as Product Engineering Training for senior professionals.

Headed P&L functions with consistent results meeting both top line and bottom line targets.

Experienced in handling global business as well Indian Government agencies especially in the telecom & networking space.

He has published papers in International and national conferences and seminars.

Contributes both technical and business articles in leading technical and business journals.

As a firm believer in knowledge sharing, interacts with Universities and educational institutes. Has been teaching both Graduate and Under Graduates for more than 8 years on topics related to product Engineering and regulated industry (Medical and Avionics) product development.

He has helped framing industry relevant courses for academics.

Member of International Microelectronics And Packaging Society (IMAPS) India Chapter and Product Development and Management Association (PDMA) India Chapter.

Moorthy did his Masters (M.Tech) in industrial Electronics from National Institute of Technology, Surathkal.

Moorthy is a percussion instruments player and plays both Indian and western percussion instruments.

 

Mr. Rajesh Kumar Sundararajan
Aricent

Rajesh Kumar Sundararajan is the Assistant Vice President for Data Communication products at Aricent, focusing on routing and switching solutions including Aricent’s widely deployed Intelligent Switching Solution (ISS). He has over 16 years of industry experience in strategizing, managing and developing software for communications and network applications across multiple technologies which include ATM, LAN switching, Carrier and Metro Ethernet. He holds a bachelor’s in electrical engineering from Bangalore University, India and a master’s in telecommunications systems engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, India.

 

Mr. Kumar Sachidanandam
Director, Cognizant Innovation Group

Kumar Sachidanandam is a Director at Cognizant Innovation Group. He responsible for Innovation Strategy, Change Management and Evangelizing thereby creating a Culture of Innovation enabling Cognizant's 100,000+ associates to deliver Service Innovation. In addition, he is also focused on driving Managed Innovation efforts within Cognizant's corporate functions.

Designing and facilitating strategic innovation workshops, mentoring Innovation champions, conducting innovation capability programs, organizing large innovation events like innovation contests, innovation fairs, innovation summits and researching on innovation tools & techniques are part of his day-to-day work at Cognizant. His current interest areas are Intrapreneurship, Play, Creativity Games and Visual Thinking.

With a Masters in Software Engineering, Bachelors' Engineering in Instrumentation Engineering and a Diploma in Electronics and Communication Engineering, he is a technologist by heart, but his passion for business creativity drew him to his current role of being an Innovation Catalyst.

Microsoft, Satyam, Eurotherm (part of Invensys) and Annamalai University are few other notable organizations he worked in his long list of 13 past employers and 25+ years of work.

Being part of a technology services company, he believes his Master's degree in Business Administration coupled with diverse experience comes handy in getting the business perspectives on innovation.
