Prof. Dr. Saragur M. Srinidhi

Saragur M. Srinidhi received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Cleveland State University, USA in 1988 and 1992, respectively. He was a Telecommunications Consultant with BP America in Cleveland, Ohio and later with NASA's Lewis Research Center at Cleveland where he was a Senior Consulting Engineer and a group head with the High-Performance Networks Group. As a Principal Investigator for NASA's Advanced Communications Technology Satellite (ACTS) experiments, he was recognized as a pioneer in hybrid ATM networking over satellites and has extensively worked on prototyping wide-area ATM networks in support of dispersed applications.

Srinidhi was the Regional Director of Marconi Communications plc for South Asia. He left Marconi in 2002 to establish a start-up company to design and develop a first mile access public Ethernet device. Dr. Srinidhi currently heads a research group at SJBIT and founded Prometheus Consulting, a global technology consulting firm specializing in due diligence studies on technology, investment analysis and regulatory studies. He is recognized as an International Telecommunications Union (ITU) Expert in Telecommunications. His research interests are in High Performance Computing, Performance Modeling, Congestion Control and Transport level issues in communication networks.

Ravikiran Annaswamy is a senior industry practitioner with rich experience in managing global technology business, leading value based solution sales and strategic management of innovations and new business models. He has over 16 years of experience at Nokia Siemens Networks and Siemens AG with general management skills and demonstrated business results.

He is currently an Entrepreneur focused on creating a tech venture creating solutions for Telecom industry. He is also an freelance consultant offering services in the area of Product management, Technology Marketing and New Product development.

Till recently, he was the Business Head for Applications, Media and Security Solutions for India. He was instrumental in defining the vision for 3G applications and innovative solutions in Indian market. He has a proven track record of achieving sales growth, profitable turn around of businesses, setting up successful product management, large product development & agile service delivery organizations and creating a culture of innovation with in his teams.

He has worked very closely with CXOs in the telecom operators, top leaders in technology and system integration companies across India and Asia pacific. He is a thought leader and speaker at various prestigious international business conferences.

He has done his MBA from Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore and has graduated from UVCE Bangalore.

He is an engaged Professional volunteer, currently the Membership development head for IEEE Bangalore section. He was the past Chair for IEEE Communication Society for Karnataka and was on Global core team for IEEE Wireless certification.

He has been recognized for his work by several awards: Siemens Director's award for Innovation, Customer management and Project Execution, IEEE Bangalore -­‐ Best volunteer award, Runner up at AIMA's National Contest for Young Managers and Asia finalist at Global Social Venture Competition conducted by Berkley Haas school of business.

Mr. C. S. Rao formerly Chairman of WiMAX Forum India is now the Reliance Communications Head of Corporate Affairs. He has held numerous leadership positions in the Indian Telecom Industry. These include Managing Director of British Telecom India, President and CEO of Lucent India and Managing Director of Tellabs India. He was one of the founding members of C-DOT and also held the General Manager position at C-DOT. Mr. Rao has received numerous awards and recognitions such as: Business Leadership Award from Assocham, National Research & Development Council (NRDC) award from President of India and Innovation, Leadership & Achievement Awards from Tellabs and Lucent. He is credited with starting Lucent Bell Labs in India. Mr. Rao holds B.Tech. and M.Tech. degrees from IIT-Madras.

 

Mr. Vijay Jain
CTO, Augere India

Vijay Jain brings with him a wealth of knowledge and expertise in Telecom networks with over 18 years of experience in various Senior Leadership position at Ericsson & other telecom vendors. He is currently working as CTO for Augere India and has been instrumental in signing the First TD-LTE contract in India. He has been instrumental in creating and successful execution of the business strategy for Ericsson in Broadband segment in the region.

Vijay in his previous roles has been advising the telecom service providers around technology evolution, strategy & market analysis. He has been an active participant in various forums in India like TEC, COAI to share expertise and represented the region as a core member of the Broadband Network business in strategic reviews in Ericsson global Forums.

He holds an Engineering degree in Electronics & Communications and has undergone a Leadership Development Program at ISB.

Mallikarjuna Rao is the Chief Technology Officer for Aircel across all Technologies & Licenses

He is one of the core member of Aircel and built network function from 400 to 1100 Technology people, Major contributor for growing the business presence from 8 geographies to 22 Geographies.

Manage Technology evolution from 2G to 4G Networks, Assess & Deploy latest generation of 3G HSPA+ Networks, create  platform readiness for 4G, Technology choice for 4G Unpaired spectrum.
 

Mr. S.C. Sharma
BSNL

Mr. Satish Sharma belongs to 1986 batch of Indian Telecom Service and is working on deputation with BSNL Corporate office as Head of Value Added Services. He is also head of Data services, International roaming & Nodal IT systems. Prior to this, he was head of Network Operations – GSM, CDMA & WiMax. He is a well known personality in the Telecom Industry as his association with the Industry, in various capacities, is for about 24 years. He was one of the pioneer members to roll out GSM based mobile services in BSNL for the first time in the year 2002. He has many laurels & awards to his credit. Mr. Sharma is a soft spoken personality but is a renowned results oriented hard task master.

 

Dr Manoj Choudhary

Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology (SAIT) India Lab 

Manoj Choudhary received his Ph.D from the department of Electrical Engineering at IIT Kanpur. He heads the Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology (SAIT) India Lab at Bangalore, working in Samsung India Software Operations. Previously, he was worked with Texas Instruments at Bangalore (India) as Development Unit Manager in the area of modem software development for mobile handsets.

He has been very active in various standardization forums such as IEEE and WiMedia Alliance. He has delivered several talks and tutorials in national/international conferences and industry forums. Besides having several patents, he is also co-author of a book “Ultra Wideband Demystified” published by River Publishers, Denmark.

Prof. Dr. Raj Jain
Washington University in Saint Louis

Prof. Dr. Raj Jain is a Fellow of IEEE, a Fellow of ACM, a winner of ACM SIGCOMM Test of Time award, CDAC-ACCS Foundation Award 2009, and ranks among the top 50 in Citeseer's list of Most Cited Authors in Computer Science. Dr. Jain is currently a Professor of Computer Science and Engineering at Washington University in St. Louis. Previously, he was one of the Co-founders of Nayna Networks, Inc - a next generation telecommunications systems company in San Jose, CA. He was a Senior Consulting Engineer at Digital Equipment Corporation in Littleton, Mass and then a professor of Computer and Information Sciences at Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio.

He is the author of ``Art of Computer Systems Performance Analysis,'' which won the 1991 ``Best-Advanced How-to Book, Systems'' award from Computer Press Association. His fourth book entitled " High-Performance TCP/IP: Concepts, Issues, and Solutions," was published by Prentice Hall in November 2003. He is co-editor of "Quality of Service Architectures for Wireless Networks: Performance Metrics and Management," published in February 2010.

Dr. Deepak Kataria
Director, IPJunction, Inc.

Deepak Kataria has over 20 years’ experience in telecom and networking industry having worked in varied roles in the entire ecosystem comprising of service provider, system OEM, silicon vendor and system integrator. Currently he serves as a Director at IP Junction Inc., consulting clients on new solution opportunities, target markets, key differentiators, product management consulting and creating ecosystem partnerships for the successful execution of identified opportunities.

Prior to starting his consulting career, he spent 8 years working for Agere Systems and LSI (silicon vendor) on ATLANTA ATM port controller, ATM switch fabric, IP-based Network Processor, PI-Fabric, DPI engine, DSP, Link Layer Processor, Ethernet over SONET products in a varied roles such as Systems Architect, Applications Manager, Systems Integration Manager, and Advanced System Prototyping Manager. He spearheaded efforts to build competitive value propositions by acquiring and developing hardware, software, and development tools necessary to integrate Agere Systems & LSI’s products into both existing and emerging application platforms.
 
Prior to Agere Systems and LSI, he spent 7 years working for Lucent Technologies and Fujitsu (system OEMs) on MX1000 ATM Switch, Fetex-150, AC120/60, and Packet Star Router in varied roles such as Systems Engineer, Network Consultant and Systems Architect.  His work included system engineering requirements and system architectures for the Lucent’s product portfolio to deliver on the value proposition of best in class voice/data integration via QoS, routing services and traffic management. He led traffic management and performance testing standards work for Lucent Technologies and Fujitsu in the ATM Forum.

Prior to Lucent Technologies and Fujitsu, he spent 3 years at AT&T Bell Labs (service provider) where he worked on tele-traffic engineering issues and supported the development the first prototype build of ATM terminal adaptor (code named MINT) for voice, video and data over ATM at 155 Mb/s.

Before starting his consulting career with IP Junction Inc., he consulted HCL America (system integrator) for 2 years on the development of forward-looking solution prototypes such as cloud-oriented video-centric enterprise and network architectures (caching, analytics, and managed content delivery), enterprise mobility solutions, SMB gateway leveraging cloud services and policy-based networking.

He holds 10 US patents and has several others in pending status and has published extensively in industry and IEEE publications. He served as Guest Editor for IEEE Communication Magazine Special Issue on Femto Cells (Sept. 2009 & Jan. 2010) and currently serves as the Industry Co-Chair for IEEE Advanced Networks and Telecommunication Systems Conference (IEEE ANTS 2011). He holds a B.S. in Electronics and Communications Engineering, and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Rutgers University, NJ.
